Relax please

A scheme that provides ‘tranquility zones’ is to be extended to all schools in Swindon. Watching the video clip that accompanies the news item, it is clear that the scheme has helped some troubled soles in the school where it has run for the last six years. I’m sure though that, when I was a lad, most lessons were, in the main, ‘tranquil’. The idea of having a room bedecked with drapes and candles to allow children to ‘visualise their gems of inestimable value’ would have been met with bemusement.

Mouldon Hill

Having taken a wrong turning whilst peddling frantically along route 45, I came across Mouldon Hill Country Park. A haven of tranquility on the (current) fringes of Swindon’s northern expansion.
Apparently the Swindon & Cricklade Railway will end here soon.

No loud chirping — your warblings should always be calm and polite.
No pecking — personal attacks should be avoided.
No singing to a different tune — your warblings should always be relevant to the posting you are warbling on.
No stealing of eggs — warblings whose main purpose is to point to webpages elsewhere without themselves adding to the discussion are not welcome.
No cuckoo-like behaviour — use your own identity, don’t try to pass yourself off as someone else.

Warblings and warblers that do not conform to the above policy may be ejected from the nest without warning.
