BBC radio streams
At the beginning of February 2015, the BBC replaced its varied assortment of internet radio feeds with a consistent set. This allowed them to retire old equipment. Unfortunately, they decided to keep the identity of these new streams a secret from the general public, providing them only to equipment manufactures and stream aggregating services. As a service to the license paying public, komadori has used research done by the Squeezebox community to provide a list of all the new HLS format feeds.
Each station is available at several quality (bit rate) levels. The Non-UK streams are only available at lower bit rates and will have gaps in programming when a programme is on for which the BBC only have UK broadcast rights. The BBC makes each stream available via two content delivery networks: Akamai, and Limelight Networks.
